Happy Thanksgiving

ThanksgivingtimHorner is one of the greatest holidays we celebrate in America.  It is not just a day to spend with family and share our thankfulness for the “fruit” of our labors in the form of a feast.  It is a day to set apart in thankfulness to God.  In wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving, I want to remind you to focus a bit more on what God has done for you, your family, your church, and your community.  Nothing we have is really the “fruit” of our labor.  It’s the blessing of an all-powerful and wonderful God.

“Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours.  Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and you are exalted as head above all.  Both riches and honor come from you, and you rule over all.  In your hand are power and might, and in your hand it is to make great and to give strength to all.  And now we thank you, our God, and praise your glorious name.”  I Chronicles 29:11-13 ESV

In his most recent UPDATE article, Dad reminds us all to be thankful to the Lord for all He has done for, through and with Premier.  It is truly amazing what He has done for us.  If you missed seeing it, you can read his complete article below.  You will also see a video of Mom sharing a Thanksgiving message with the Home Office at our Thanksgiving lunch in 2010.  We did not know at that time it would be her last in this life.  She is now expressing those words of thanks directly to her Savior.

May each of you have a blessed and happy Thanksgiving with your family and friends.

“Give thanks to the Lord and proclaim His greatness.  Let the whole world know what He has done.”  Psalm 105:1, 2001 Verse of the Year

8121632928_00fefa53aa_mAs the leaves change and the temperature drops and our days become shorter, we are reminded to be thankful to the Lord for His abundant blessings on our lives.  While there are so many things that I am grateful for, I want to share two with you.

First, I am so grateful to the Lord for my sweet honey, Joan, and the wonderful family we have.  I miss her deeply but with great gratitude, daily I praise the Lord for her life and impact on me.  As you know, she led me back to Christ and ultimately through that decision, we followed the Lord’s path and founded Premier together to honor the Lord.  Her impact on me, our family, and in Premier is still strong. We Will Remember.

And I thank God for Premier Designs – for all He has done for, through and with Premier.  This is God’s company.  This has never been about Andy and Joan, but to God goes all the glory.  He really has blessed us to be a part of His purpose and brought so many wonderful people (that’s you) to be a part of the Premier Family!  I am grateful for each and every one of you!  You are so important and special to me.   God has been so good to Premier.  We just celebrated our 28th Anniversary and began our 29th year on November 5th! Can you believe it?  Words cannot express all that God has done for us!

As Thanksgiving arrives, let us be reminded to give thanks, to share and to give to others.  Gratitude is a choice.  It is often forgotten but is an important discipline that helps us draw closer to God.  We must be grateful in all situations, no matter how difficult.  Joan has told us, “A thankful heart is like a magnet.  It attracts gratitude, happiness, and cheerfulness.  Take time to thank God for all He has done.”

Yes, let’s be sure to express our thankfulness for everything the Lord has done for us.  May you all have a joyful Thanksgiving with your family and friends.  Remember, the past is gone.  We are in the present and doing well.  Looking to our future – it is bright.  Be thankful and pray for America, our country we love, but may we forever always “In God We Trust.”

“It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord and to sing praises unto Thy name, O Most High.”  Psalm 92:1

Grateful to God,  Andy
