Spring has arrived and the flowers are blooming. On May 12th we remember Joan’s birthday. She was so special to me. It took a miracle from God to give me Joan as my wife. Most of you know the story. It should never have happened, but I am so thankful it did. She was a wonderful mom to our five kids and a great wife to me. Her family was richly blessed by her devotion to the Lord and her passion for them to know His Word.
Without a doubt, she was the driving spiritual influence and encourager over the years in Premier. Her great joy was to love people and enrich their lives. She set the spiritual tone for honoring God in every aspect of our business. One thing she loved was God’s Word and she selected our Verses of the Year. She helped us to understand not only what they meant but how they applied to our lives. She showed us how to live them out.
Joan touched so many lives. God had given her many gifts and she had a beautiful desire to give and serve with all her heart. Her sweet personality and a love for the Lord gave her a deep love for people. Joan believed in Keeping It Personal. She was known for her many handwritten notes, and took great care to stay in touch with friends. She always remembered the people she met, their names, their children and grandchildren’s names, even the names of their dogs! At her Rally photo sessions with Jewelers, she’d spend hours with you and greatly regretted having to keep moving because she wanted to get to know each of you personally. Wherever she went, Joan touched lives for the Lord and shared His love and grace in a sweet and quiet way.
As we celebrate Joan’s life, we will remember most of all her devotion to God and to His Word. Her life verse was Psalm 34:1, “I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.” It exemplifies the way she lived her life. Serving, giving, and trusting God. If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior, what a day that will be when we get to heaven. We can all celebrate God’s glory together and enjoy His presence with those who have gone ahead of us. To God be the glory!
I hope you have a great month of May as you continue to serve with a smile on your face and hope in your heart.
Let’s never forget to Keep It Personal and Count It All Joy!
